“Your business may be greener than you think.” —Dawn Hunter, Executive Director, Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce

The George P. Luciano Family Center for Public Service and Leadership at Cumberland County College has been awarded a Sustainable and Eco-Friendly business certification by the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Vineland under their Sustainable Jersey program, and with Citizens United to Protect the Maurice River and Its Tributaries.

By supporting community efforts to reduce waste, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and improve environmental equity, Sustainable Jersey empowers communities to build a better world for future generations.

Recycling, conservation, water conservation, local purchasing and promoting green practices all show a commitment to a sustainable community. By checking off at least 25 items, a company becomes eligible for certification as a Sustainable and Eco-Friendly business.

“I encourage fellow members of the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce to take the sustainable assessment survey. We were surprised by some of things we are already doing to be more sustainable and eco-friendly,” said Beatrice Hughes, Director, Conference and Events Operations at Cumberland County College. “The checklist also provided us with new ideas that we can start implementing. We feel proud to receive our certification from the Vineland chamber and become a certified Sustainable Eco-Friendly business.”

“Your business may be greener than you think,” said Dawn Hunter, Executive Director, Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce. “Go through the checklist assessment form and find out where you stand in your efforts to be a sustainable business. All businesses are eligible—including locations outside of Vineland.”
