Tuesday, July 25, 2017
Cumberland County College has launched a new campaign to brand the institution as “The College of YES, You Can.” The purpose of the effort is to increase the community’s awareness of the lifelong advantages and opportunities a college education provides.

The marketing campaign aligns with Cumberland County College’s strategic plan of assisting all community members in reaching their full potential by providing a variety of accessible and affordable education options.

“This campaign emphasizes higher education accessibility to all in the county—whether you are upper, middle or working class; a recent college graduate or an adult returning to complete your degree or seeking workforce training,” said Cumberland County College President Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez.

Cumberland County College students, representing some of the best and brightest student leaders, scholar athletes and recent graduates, are now visible on regional billboards and Comcast television networks, as well as other print and digital advertisements and on social media.

“Our local residents can achieve a brighter future by getting an associate or bachelor’s degree, or even a master’s degree,” Dr. Salomon-Fernandez added. “As our extensive list of career and technical education options continues to expand, residents of all ages and work experience levels can benefit by enrolling in these programs.”

Cumberland County College offers more than 125 programs of study for students choosing a traditional associate degree pathway with aspirations to transfer to a four-year college. Upon earning their associate degree, many choose the convenience of pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at the on-campus Shirlee and Bernard Brown University Center, with prestigious partners such as Fairleigh Dickinson University, Georgian Court University, Montclair State University, Seton Hall University and Wilmington University.

Cumberland County College is committed to helping the region’s employers upgrade the skill levels of their workers with customized training programs. Short-term and certificate workforce training programs are offered to those wanting to master new skills, change careers or advance in their current positions.

Fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Cumberland County College has earned a reputation for excellence. A recent report by CNN Money ranks Cumberland as having the highest student success rate among 18 community colleges in New Jersey. Cumberland was also recognized by Washington Monthly magazine as one of the nation’s top 50 community colleges—ranked 29th in the U.S. and first in New Jersey.
