School Counts! Golf Classic

Each year the School Counts! Golf Classic is held by the Cumberland County College Foundation on the first Wednesday of June. This event is the main fundraiser for the School Counts! program. Since the program's inception in 2001, over $1.2 million has been awarded in School Counts! scholarships.

The goal of the School Counts! program is to provide two-year Cumberland County College tuition scholarships to county residents who earn four consecutive School Counts!  certificates from participating high schools. School Counts!  is a “win-win” for both Cumberland County students and the Cumberland County business community.

A School Counts! certificate affirms that a student:

Has an exemplary attendance record; Has taken a more rigorous curriculum; Has achieved a higher than average grade point average; Has successfully completed Alegebra I; And Is scheduled to graduate from high school on time.
Cumberland County businesses benefit when they hire a School Counts! student because they can count on this employee:

to come to work on time; engage in quality work; work harder than the average person; finish what they start!
