Basic Skills Dashboard

The Basic Skills Dashboard is based on the Basic Skills Effectiveness Report which is compiled by the Office of Instructional Research. This Report tracks the number of first-time, degree-seeking students who needed remediation in one or more skill areas. As shown on the dashboard, the bar graph illustrates the percentage of total students, full-time students, part-time students, and recent high school graduates (RHG) that needed remediation in the three skill areas of Reading, English, and Mathematics in the Fall 2008 entering freshman cohort. The bar graphs also illustrate the percentage of students needing the basic (090) level of remediation, the percentage needing the developmental (100) level of remediation, and the percentage testing into college level coursework. The gauges to the right illustrate 1) the percentage of entering students who needed remediation in at least one skill areas and 2) the percentage of entering students who needed remediation in all three skill areas.
