Registration and Deadlines
The Cumberland County College Science Research Competition serves as a Regional Fair for the Delaware Valley Science Fair.  As such, we will be adhering to the guidelines and rules outlined in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) rulebook.  For further information, please visit the Delaware Valley Science Fair website at www.dvsf.org or select "rules" from our menu..

You can download the required registration forms from our website or the Delaware Valley Science Fair website at www.dvsf.org.  As soon as possible, students should complete and submit the CCC Application and Registration Form along with a research plan/procedure and all other necessary ISEF forms.  Each student, in addition to the aforementioned application and research plan, must also submit ISEF Form 1, ISEF Form 1a, ISEF Form 1b, ISEF Form 3 and any other ISEF forms which are required due to the nature of that student’s experiment (see SRC approval section below).  Team projects must have a complete set of paperwork completed for each team memberThis will allow for early detection of projects which may need approval before research begins.  Please review your students’ paperwork for thoroughness and completeness, as incomplete forms will be returned.  Please contact
Richard Taylor  or Veronica Chainey when completed applications and forms are ready to be submitted:

Please note that research CANNOT begin for projects involving Vertebrate Animals, Humans or Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents until approval is received by the CCC/DVSF-SRC. Examples of commonly submitted experiments which require approval include:  culturing any bacteria (setting food out to decompose); experimenting on the family pet, fish or amphibians; surveying classmates or family members by questionnaire or behavioral/physical observations.  Additionally, experiments involving hazardous chemicals, hazardous devices and those presenting an incendiary and/or other hazards, require risk assessment forms. The Cumberland County College Scientific Review Committee (SRC) will meet and review all research plans and provide feedback on paperwork necessary to receive approval on a regular basis.  An appointment will be set up with each school at Cumberland County College to review and receive your school’s paperwork.  We are anticipating scheduling initial appointments from December 4 to 15, 2017 and January 1 to 5, 2018.

Deadline for all other projects to be registered and submitted:   1/26/18
Students and teachers should retain their originals and submit only copies of the paperwork.  All projects with completed applications and forms that are received on or before January 26, 2018 will be accepted into the competition.

As in the past, if the Science Research Competition date is drawing near and you know that a student will not be able to participate, please notify us immediately via the contact information above.

A select group of students who place at our Competition may qualify to advance to the regional Delaware Valley Science Fair.  A select group of students who place at the Delaware Valley Science Fair may be eligible to advance to the International Science and Engineering Fair.
