Science Research Competition: Required Forms

Every project to be entered into the Cumberland County College Science Research Competition must have following forms submitted by January 28, 2017:

  1. The Cumberland County College Application and registration form ,
  2. ISEF Forms (include at least 1, 1a, 1b and 3)
  3. a research plan containing a detailed procedure and
  4. a bibliography containing a minimum of five sources.

These forms should be submitted to CCC for review as soon as students have concluded preliminary research and have selected the idea for their experiment. Some projects require approval from the sponsoring school’s IRB and CCC Scientific Review Committee before they can start so please do this as soon as possible.  Appointments to review paperwork will be set up with the teachers from a sponsoring school in December 2018 and January 2019.

January 31st, 2019 is the deadline to submit all forms indicated on form 1, question #6. These include: Human Subjects (even if you are doing something you think is harmless), Vertebrate Animals (includes family pets), Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents (includes all growth of bacteria, mold or fungus), Hazardous Chemicals, Activities and Devices. These additional forms are included in the link to the ISEF forms.  Please refer to the 2019 ISEF guidelines and Rules for additional information concerning the aforementioned projects.

No deviation in experimental design will be permitted after January 31st, 2019.

On February 26, 2019, two days before the fair, display boards and supporting materials must be dropped off between 3-6pm. Project drop off should be coordinated through the school or teacher representative. Anyone under the age of 18 must be acconpanied by a chaperone while on CCC's campus. An abstract which contains no personal information (student or school) must be attached to the student's display board and 3 additional copies placed on the table. Instead of personal information, all materials should list the exact title of the project as it appears on the display board as well as the project ID number, which will be provided before the fair.

The research paper and scientific notebook, although not required, should be placed on the table when the boards and abstracts are dropped off, as judging will begin on February 27th, 2019.  Please bring all documentation with you at that time.
