Biography

M.S.Ed. with honors, Learning Technologies-Instructional Design Specialist, Drexel University
B.A., English Literature, University of Delaware
New Jersey Certified Teacher of English, permanent
Quality Matters™ APPQMR Certified

Mrs. Judy Cirucci began her tenure with CCC in the 1990s when she served as Learning Assistant to the college’s first English Computer Lab. Mrs. Cirucci spent nearly five years transitioning and supporting faculty and students to this innovative educational technology initiative, maintaining the Mac Lab, serving as Technical Advisor to the college’s newspaper, The Voice, and much more. While she enjoyed her time in this position immensely, ultimately she found it necessary to resign to devote herself full time to her then rapidly growing family.

A number of years later and at just the right time,  a chance meeting at the mall with a former colleague led Mrs. Cirucci to return to the college in 2008 as an adjunct instructor teaching CS101 and 102 while concurrently completing her Master’s Degree. Mrs. Cirucci was fortunate enough to accept the position of Instructional Designer a few years later, a position which she holds dear to this day.

As Instructional Designer, Mrs. Cirucci supports the college's mission and strategic objectives, including developing teaching standards and policies for CCC online/hybrid courses in compliance with the Interregional Guidelines for the Evaluation of Distance Education, Quality Matters, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and current research. She has designed and continutes to facilitate an online instructor certification course and performs support and management tasks for the college's LMS. In addition, she designs, develops, and delivers professional development workshops, tutorials, and instructional resources for various educational technologies and software; collaborates to develop master courses and influence curriculum decisions; troubleshoots technical problems for students, faculty and staff; recommends technology tools for teaching and learning and problem solving; serves on various committees; and manages the Perkins Open Computer Lab.

Mrs. Cirucci has an affinity for all things technological; enjoys reading, writing, researching; and loves most animals although she readily admits that snakes are not her favorite. She and her husband will soon reach a quarter century of marital bliss and are the proud and loving parents of a son, a daughter, and a number of four-legged creatures.
