Biography

A.A.S. Cumberland County College
B.S. Wilmington University

Linda Scully is a Cumberland County College success story!  She came from a disadvantaged background and was the first in her family to attend college.  Within CCC’s supportive educational environment, Linda flourished and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa (National Honor Society), was nominated to Who’s Who in Junior Colleges in 1995, and was awarded the West Publishing Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement. Graduating with an A.A.S. in Paralegal Studies, Cumberland’s well rounded program prepared her to work for several years as a paralegal in the field.

In 2008, Linda was provided with an opportunity to give back to CCC and the community as part of the TRiO Talent Search team.  She assisted low income, first generation students in their quest to attain higher education, and taught as part of a Summer Bridge program to help high school seniors transition into college.

In 2009, she joined the Business, Education and Social Services division as an administrative assistant.  Linda is very student-centered and interested in helping students grow.  While there she co-sponsored trips to the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, advised the Amnesty International Club, assisted the Criminal Justice Club and was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Epsilon Honor Society (Criminal Justice).

In 2012, Linda was awarded a bronze star and The President’s Volunteer Service Award for her community service efforts.  Her award and letter on White House stationery hang proudly on her office wall.

With CCC’s encouragement, Linda enrolled at Wilmington University, a partner university with classes right here on campus.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013 with a B.S. in Organizational Dynamics and was inducted into Wilmington’s own honor society, Delta Gamma Rho.  She was the single undergraduate of her class to receive the distinguished Wilmington Trustee’s Award for Service to the community.

In June 2013, Linda transferred into the Arts and Humanities division, where she remains to this day.  Since joining A&H, Linda has joined the Phi Theta Kappa Advisory Team, Student Development Council and co-advises the Drama Club.  In her spare time, she mentors students, writes satire and poetry, and works as the Company Manager for CCC’s award-winning Drama Department productions.  She also represents Cumberland at the NJ Association of Community Theaters.
