Prospective International Students

Cumberland County College offers Associate Degree programs and invites inquiry by foreign students. Please follow the guidelines as listed below if you are interested in further information. You must provide all information as listed in order to receive an I-20 from our school, which is necessary when applying for your Student Visa to enter the USA.

College Admissions:
Complete the Cumberland Admissions Application and submit with your $25 application fee. Be sure to specify your degree major. Provide your high school transcript documenting high school completion.
Documentation of Financial Ability:
The amount available to support you and your studies for the first year and allow your entry to the US must exceed our estimate of $16,800. Tuition and fees for the year will be approximately $8,800; $8000 is estimated for living expenses. Students must come prepared to pay for tuition and rent. Please provide the following as appropriate:

If you do not have a sponsor in the US who will host your stay, please provide bank statements and other verification of personal funds that will indicate you have adequate money in order to attend Cumberland County College the first year. Sponsors outside the US must complete an Affidavit of Sponsorship verifying their financial commitment on your behalf and provide bank statements and/or other verification as appropriate.

If you have a sponsor in the US who will host your stay, please have them read and complete the attached I-134 Affidavit of Support and a statement indicating their financial commitment on your behalf.

Once you have provided the information required to process your I-20, your information will be entered electronically through SEVIS with the Bureau of Citizenship & Immigration Services. You will be mailed a complete packet including your I-20 which must be presented to the US Embassy in your country. You will be required to pay a SEVIS processing fee; please bring the $100 fee to your consulate appointment and retain the receipt for your files or you may visit the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website at http://www.ice.gov/graphics/sevis

Housing:
Students are responsible for locating apartments or making living arrangements as we do not have on-campus housing. Students must come prepared to pay for rent and tuition.

Testing:
Once you arrive, you will be given an advisement appointment and directed to take the appropriate College Basic Skills Test for placement into the proper level English classes. We do not require the Toefl.
