| For a full-time student who has successfully completed a minimum of one semester at CCC. Preference will be given to students who have completed their first year or are graduating and transferring to a 4-year school. GPA of 3.0 or higher required. Student must demonstrate a record of community service; letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor. Student must possess excellent communication skills. A 250-300 word essay is required to demonstrate this skill. The donor will pay particular attention to a student's ability to communicate to the general masses through the written word. Content, professionalism, grammar and spelling will be critiqued. The essay should be on one of the topics listed below: "The importance of friendship to you" (Describe your relationship with your friends.)or "The person who has most influenced your life." | The New Jersey Foster Care Scholars Program is intended to assist current and former foster youth in their pursuit of higher education.
