STEAMWorks ready for the holidays with Black Friday Discounts

Tuesday, November 24, 2015
Since the October 1st launch of Cumberland County College’s satellite facility in downtown Bridgeton NJ, the possibilities for South Jersey’s first makerspace seem endless.

With the holiday shopping season getting into full swing this week, a number of people are opting to use the technology at STEAMWorks to make gifts rather than buy them according to STEAMWorks Director Merritt Gant.

“We’re seeing a number of people who would rather make something personal to give as a gift rather than buy whatever is in a store”, said Gant, “we’re also seeing a lot of personalized Christmas ornaments”.

To take the idea a step further and make it easy for customers, STEAMWorks is offering a Black Friday event so that anyone visiting STEAMWorks on November 27th can lock in memberships at 50% off.

In addition, STEAMWorks will make the 3-D printer available for holiday projects for as little as $7.50 per cubic inch for those who place a job order in person on Black Friday.

“I’m all about helping people learn new skills and tap into their creative side, that’s why we wanted to provide everyone in South Jersey with a chance to lock in a great rate and experience what a makerspace has to offer” Gant said.

For those with the gift of music, STEAMWorks hosts a fully stocked recording studio that can accommodate everything from a metal band to a church choir and everything in between. Gant, a professional audio engineer, provides the mixing for demos and master discs.

Beyond the Black Friday discounts, STEAMWorks will be giving away one of 3 prizes as part of the promotional including a free 1 month membership, 2 hours of free recording studio time in the STEAMWorks recording studio, 1 free 3-D printed of your choosing up to 4 cubic inches.

“We’re just getting started and the holidays are a great time of year to kick things off. Whether someone wants to make a personal gift or recording for family and friends or add some new classes and skill sets as part of a New Year’s resolution, STEAMWorks is a great alternative” said Gant.
