Project Assist

Meredith Vicente Project Assist, sponsored in part by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education, is New Jersey's southern regional center for comprehensive learning disabilities services for individuals with learning disabilities who are pursuing a college education. Although Project Assist is headquartered at Cumberland County College and primarily serves students on this campus, students from other area colleges can benefit from diagnostic services provided by the center. Disability coordinators from eligible colleges may download the Diagnostic Referral Packet here

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be admitted to a New Jersey college Must have up-to-date documentation of LD or submit to diagnostic testing which can be provided by Project Assist Must have average cognitive ability. Must show evidence of college potential, interest, and motivation Must complete the Project Assist Application. Walk inTheir Shoes: An Interactive Training

Have you ever wondered what students with disabilities really experience? What are the different types of learning disabilities? What is considered to be a reasonable accommodation and do accommodations provide an unfair advantage? Why do many students with disabilities need extended time?

Then, Walk in Their Shoes. This is an interactive 15-20 minute training program that will provide one with a better understanding of disabilities and how to help students with disabilities meet their academic goals. Let's get started; Proceed to the following link.
