Student Success Initiative

About the program...

As part of Cumberland County College's Student Success Initiative, this new program is offered to increase the student retention and completion rate. Cumberland County College is seeking to recruit, support and retain students through an individual, personalized success plan, early intervention, and one-on-one advising.

 

 

Services Provided

Personalized academic advising and development of a Student Success Plan to promote your success in college, help you obtain better grades and complete your courses every semester
Your academic advisor will ensure that the plan is most effective for you
We will refer you to supportive services including career counseling, tutoring services and linkage to community services
We will provide tutoring and supplemental instruction in specific courses
We will assist you with the Financial Aid process
Textbook loan program
Workshops in study skills, math anxiety, time management, stress management, accessing information using IRIS Online, and many more

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you tested into basic or developmental courses
You are enrolled in a curriculum leading to a degree or certificate
You are enrolled for at least six credits
Must apply for financial aid - eligible students will be given priority
If eligible, we may refer you to other excellent programs such as the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), Student Support Services (SSS), and Project Assist (PA)
