Play On! Auditions

Wednesday, January 23, 2019
Luciano Theatre - at the Guaracini Fine & Performing Arts Center
Auditions for Play On! are open to anyone! Be a part of Rick Abbott’s hilarious story of a theater group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty authoress who keeps revising the script.

Show Description

When the Dunbar Drama Society is given the opportunity to put their theatre back in the black with a royalty-free show, they jump at the chance. Little did they know, a maddening interference from the authoress would spin them into a tale of “anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” Between a disastrous dress rehearsal and a curtain call speech on the state of modern theatre, this “play inside a play”. The audience is treated to a madcap climax to a thoroughly hilarious romp. Even the sound effects reap their share of laughter!

Audition Information/Instructions

No monologue is required to audition. Please come dressed comfortably and be prepared to read from the script and other materials.
Please have a list of all your date conflicts between audition dates and closing of the play.

*The cast for PLAY ON! includes a total of 7 women and 3 men, ages 17— 60.
All ages in the following descriptions are "playing ages". There are a couple of roles that allow for gender reassignment (per the playwright). We will explore that option during auditions, if necessary or desired. The play-within-the-play takes place in England so be prepared for some British accents for the characters in Murder Most Foul.
